SERAC has developed a system for assembling ration packs which runs consistently at 950 packs per hour or
18 000 packs per day.
A system of motorised conveyors is used to regulate packing speeds and allows the packers to fill the trays as they move past them.
These then are fed straight into the shrink wrap or sealing machines for additional efficiencies
SERAC has a complete quality control system.
As products arrive, whether it is sachets, boxes, trays, or meat, they are checked to specification and to order. A system allocates these to the pre-planned bays for easy retrieval.
Batch numbers are recorded for each batch.
Spot checks are conducted on the final trays to secure they contain the correct items or variants in terms of number. Ration packs are also checked regularly to ensure all the items are present in the pack.
Detailed records are kept to ensure the results of the quality control are easily accessed if required.
